With over 3.9 million birds on the move last night it was no surprise that Merlin was reporting loads and loads of birds in the yard. Although it was quite clear skies and sunny I decided to give it a go at the waterfall even though the sun was right in front of me. The best bird by far was a female Summer Tanager which I didn't get a shot of because I was using a software focus range limiter and by the time I'd adjusted it the bird had flown. The increased range did allow me to get a few shots of an Eastern Kingbird that was fly catching right in front of me. I didn't stay out long because the light direction just wasn't conducive to good photographs. I did go out again about 3PM and it was pretty damn good. While I normally add my days shots to the blog in the evening going through over 4000 shots just wasn't enough time before I fall asleep. Here's one as a teaser and as it's going to be raining tomorrow (allegedly) I hope to get a full blog post done then.
