Photographing in the dark isn't easy.
After we returned from getting stabbed with the latest Flu and Covid vaccines this evening we stopped in the corn fields to admire the supermoon rising in the East. Getting back home I got my gear ready and trundled up the hill to the top of the yard where the woodland gives way to a field of soya beans (I think). From there I can see to the East, to the South and to the West. Venus was easily visable as was Arcturus but the comet wasn't as obvious as on Tuesday night. It certainly wasn't as cold as on Tuesday so that was good. It was higher in the sky compared to Venus and Arcturus and didn't seem as bright, having the dirty great extremely bright supermoon behind me didn't help. I wanted to get the horizon in the shot so I used my 70-200mm lens and just managed it. As for photographing in the dark, it's not easy trying to find the right buttons even though you dont have an issue in daylight. If I went back up there now 1 1/2 hours later it's probably much closer to the horizon so I could use a longer focal length but screw that, it's nearly my bedtime and it's really dark and there's critters out there.
